This was the first Singh Foods restaurant, which started during the Covid-19 pandemic when the Singh brothers approached their father to create a new company in Texas. The prime motive of Singh Foods is to handle the client’s needs by providing satisfactory services and attending to a large customer base every year. Five employees, including the general manager, manage the company. Singh Foods has gone through quite a few changes with its changing managers and employees while incorporating different services and products to its clients. Singh Food serves drinks and food to too many customers daily; therefore, it is categorized as food and retail services within Texas. Singh Foods offers various types of beverages and food at their location in Texas. Consequently, Singh Foods sells wraps, salads, fries, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, and burgers. Singh Foods serves desserts such as cookies, pies, and ice cream. Additionally, Singh Foods has a breakfast menu that includes hotcakes, eggs, sandwiches, and biscuits. Lastly, Singh foods have several different coffee drinks known as SinCafe beverages. These varieties of products provide customers with many options to choose from. Singh Foods aims to develop an e-commerce website to support its digital growth strategy. The aim will be to serve different customers within and outside Texas since this will boost the company’s growth. The website will allow the restaurant to expose its brand to various audiences via search engines, deploy content marketing to build brand awareness, and leverage digital advertising to boost sales. Additionally, the company owner believes that developing an e-commerce website can be the most effective solution for the company to monitor its business operations, manage orders, and at the same time, maintain an online presence. Domain With the introduction of the internet, buying and selling different products and services has been easy since the middlemen have been eliminated through online shopping. Singh foods will be incorporating the internet to fill the existing gaps made by its competitors within and outside Texas. The company domain will be singhfoods.com. Consequently, this particular domain (singhfoods.com) has been chosen for this project because it is easy for people to pronounce and type, memorable, and brandable. Design 3.1 Astra theme When it comes to e-commerce websites, speed matters a lot to both the customers and the website manager; therefore, the Astra theme touts itself as the fasters theme for WordPress (Peiris et al., 2015). Furthermore, nobody wants to wait around for the page load before starting online shopping for their favorite products or services. Astra also works excellent with page builder plugins like Elementor, which means the website developer can create a unique layout for a store with the drag and drop interface. Astra theme is appropriate for Singh Foods because it is easy to customize when adding logos changing fonts and colors. Various elements can also be customized using the Elementor page builder plugin, so the customization option is numerous with the Astra theme, making it best for an e-commerce website. When it comes to e-commerce websites, it is significant for the users to feel comfortable with the website since customers who feel understood and known are more likely to buy from the company. Therefore, the design of the Singh Foods website should come from a place of empathy and customer-centric experience. A user-centered web design aims to increase the usability and usefulness of any particular website (Ilbahar & Cebi 2017). Several factors contribute to usability and effectiveness; two examples are efficient information retrieval and navigability. Another technique used to look at usefulness is how relevant the web content of the site is to the user, and usability can be viewed in terms of the ease of use of the website. Screenshot 4: Glovo online home page Many companies across the globe have good website designs that meet the organization’s budget, standards, and brand. However, for this research, two companies were considered, Glovo and McDonalds, to represent a good web design that Singh Foods can copy since their two companies are its main competitors. The two website designs screenshot 4 and 5 illustrates Glovo and McDonald, respectively. The two websites have concentrated on visibility regarding navigational aids being highly conspicuous to the user. This enables the user to figure out what they can immediately and cannot do. Therefore, visibility is a great help in assisting website users in predicting their actions’ effect. A good web design should maintain minimum memory load, and both Glovo and McDonalds have been understood this principle well and executed it professionally. The memory load is kept to a bare minimum, no matter where you click on the two websites. The site’s navigation bar stays the same no matter what page a user visits, and the site layouts remain pretty consistent from page to page. Screenshot 5: McDonald’s home page Quick Response is another proven principle on Glovo and McDonald’s website. If the user is interested in purchasing anything on both websites, they should click the product in the navigation bar to find the drop-down menu with the company product page. Glovo and McDonald’s websites are fun from the color used and the menu structure. These two sites are a repository of images, and to get started, and the user searches for any product or service they want. The user is considered an endless list of products, such as search queries. Not only is this fun, but it also encourages confidence in product quality while also encouraging you to be competent in using the site. Such a good experience serves as a kind of positive reinforcement tool, in which the user is asked to explore the site in detail to see what else will be a pleasant surprise.
