Read and comment the article. At least 200 words. Read the comment from Jay. Reply his comment. More than 100 words. No plagiarism. Using easy vocabulary is enough. This was a very interesting article and brought certain topics to light that I had never
even considered. At first glance, it may seem most logical that the group with the best
and brightest individuals, that had a tendency to be very rigid and stay on topic for
the duration of the meeting, would in fact be the most productive. Looking at the
overall picture, we can see that having an emotional connection with group
members, and having the ability to read their emotions, could lead to more effective
group work. As an accounting major, I spend a lot of time studying and doing
homework in groups. I have been in many different types of groups, with members
that never talked of anything other than the assignments relating to school, groups
where we only socialized and I left without completing a single assignment, and
groups where we balanced socializing with school work. I can say without a doubt,
that the group where we talked about our personal lives, as well as school, were my
most productive meetings. I think gaining a deeper understanding of the individuals
you are working with will allow you to collaborate most efficiently. Also, breaking up
the intensity of studying, or compiling financial statements, with a casual
conversation, will ultimately lead to more productive meetings in the long run as the
article concluded.
